May 2015 - Medical Staff Coordinator/Credentialing Database Specialist - Lewisville

Medical Center of Lewisville is looking for a Medical Staff Coordinator/Credentialing Database Specialist.

Shifts: Full time days, no weekends.

Position Summary:

Provides direct support to the Medical Staff Services Department and AVP Physician Development as it relates top all aspects of Medical Staff credentialing and privileging. Processes initial applications for initial appointment and reappointment to the Medical Staff and Allied Health Professional staff. Coordinates Credentials Committee meeting including preparation of meeting packets, reports, and prepares meeting minutes. Serves as the liaison between the hospital and the Centralized Processing Center (CPC) on processes and data as it relates to initial appointment, re-appointment and clinical privileging. Generates reports from Medical Staff database to support the hospital's accreditation status and monitors maintenance of required documents (professional license, DEA, professional liability insurance, integrity checks with the OIG, GSA, OIE).


Minimum Position Requirements:

1. Education

a. Bachelor's Degree Preferred

b. CPMSM/CPCS Certification Preferred

2. Experience

a. Minimum of three years’ experience in database management and demonstrated proficiency in computer technology (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel); database applications. Preferred experience in Cactus software.

b. Must have a thorough understanding of primary source verification of healthcare provider credentials.

c. Experience must be in hospital or healthcare setting.
